BOOKS WE LOVE

When it comes to books and pregnancy/parenting, there are thousands if not hundreds of thousands you can choose from. If you’re anything like us, we wanted something that was informative but not overwhelming and steered away from telling us what we COULD NOT do whilst pregnant. The idea of that kind of negativity still makes us shiver.

Here are some of our, and our community’s, favorite books about pregnancy and parenting:

like a mother book cover about the science and culture of pregnancy

Like if we were to write a book, this would be it. It's based in curiousity and science but funny at the same time. We dig that.

bringing up bebe book about having a baby in france and parenting in france versus the USA

This book gave us a lot of perspective on US versus European styles of raising bebes. One thing that stuck with us: making sure your little one always says hello to adults. It's the one moment they're equal to an adult. These little things add up.

This book takes you from conception through to postpartum which is refreshing to have - normal pregnancy books focus on pregnancy only. This is a whole journey, and we appreciate that about this book.

raising toddlers - no bad kids by janet lansbury

Janet Lansbury is changing the way we look at our toddlers and their behavior. Highly recommend.

wonder weeks takes you through the stages of your infant

This books take you through your baby's development week by week - what to look for, what games to play. It was a total lifesaver in the middle of the night during the first six months of our babies' lives.

yoga mama - the best yoga for you during each stage of pregnancy pregnancy yoga

“As a yoga teacher I wanted to know how my yoga practice would be impacted in each trimester. What I learned from this book was so much more than that - mostly about letting go (of my pelvic floor).” - Christina

Turns out Tracy Hogg has written a bunch of books that are deeply insightful and relatable. This is definitely more strategy and tactic driven, something you won't find on our pages but our community loves this book!
